Day 1: Welcome to Cusco
Altitude: 11,150 ft / 3,399 m
Arrival in Cusco. Transfer to your hotel.

Day 2: Sacred Valley of the Incas
Altitude: 9,200 – 12,000 ft / 2,800 – 3,650 m
Guided tour to El Mirador for panoramic views of the Sacred Valley.
Explore Pisac ruins and its handicraft market.
Enjoy lunch at a traditional Andean restaurant.
Visit Ollantaytambo ruins, an iconic Inca fortress.
Overnight in Ollantaytambo.

Day 3: Cusco – Km 82 – Ayapata (Start of Inca Trail)
Early departure at 4:30 AM from Cusco, traveling 3.5 hours to Km 82.
Breakfast en route (not included).
Trek 14 km / 8.7 mi along the Cusichaca Valley, passing Llactapata ruins.
Enjoy scenic views of Mount Veronica and local flora & fauna.
Campsite at Ayapata – 10,829 ft / 3,300 m.

Day 4: Ayapata – Chaquicocha
Trek across two high passes; Dead Woman’s Pass: 13,779 ft / 4,200 m.
Visit Inca sites Runcuraccay and Sayacmarca.
Pass through Polylepsis forests; possible wildlife sightings: White-Tailed Deer.
Campsite at Chaquicocha – 11,800 ft / 3,600 m.

Distance: 16 km / 10 mi, 10 hours
Difficulty: Moderate to Challenging
Day 5: Chaquicocha – Winay Wayna
Trek 10 km / 6.2 mi through lush cloud forest.
Visit Phuyupatamarca and Winay Wayna archaeological sites.
Campsite at Winay Wayna – 8,792 ft / 2,680 m.
Accommodation: Camping
Distance: 10 km / 6.2 mi, 5 hours
Difficulty: Moderate
Day 6: Winay Wayna – Machu Picchu
Early hike to the Sun Gate for sunrise views of Machu Picchu.
Guided tour of the citadel; optional climb to Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain (extra cost).
Return by train to Ollantaytambo, then bus to Cusco.
