Night 1: Welcome to Peru Provide us your correct international flight details
A representative will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel in the Miraflores district.

Day 1: Lima City Tour Enjoy breakfast at your hotel and a free morning in Lima. The city tour begins between 2:00 p.m. to 2:15 p.m., exploring the historical periods of Lima: pre-Hispanic, colonial, and contemporary. Learn about Lima’s rich history dating back to the Inca Empire.

Day 2: Fly to Cusco Transfer to the Lima airport for your flight to Cusco. We’ll be waiting at the Cusco airport to take you to your hotel. Enjoy a free afternoon to explore Cusco.

Day 3: City Tour A free morning in Cusco followed by a city tour at 1 p.m. Visit key sites, including Cusco Cathedral, Q’oricancha/Temple of the Sun, and various Inca ruins. The tour concludes in the late afternoon.

Day 4: Sacred Valley Pickup at 8 a.m. for a full-day tour exploring Inca ruins, a handicraft market, and meeting alpacas and llamas. Visit Pisaq market, Pisaq ruins, Ollantaytambo ruins, and enjoy lunch in Urubamba.

Day 5: Inca Trail 2 Days: The Beginning Start your Inca Trail adventure at 6:00 am, taking the 6:40 a.m. train from Ollantaytambo to KM 104. Hike for three hours, visit Wiñay Wayna ruins, and reach the Sun Gate entry into Machu Picchu. Descend to Aguas Calientes for overnight.
Accommodations: La Cabaña (or camping for an additional fee)

- Professional Guides: All guides are English and tourism graduates from Cusco National University, passionate about sharing their heritage. They ensure your safety and happiness.
- Permits: Once your details and deposit are received, we purchase permits for you. Permits are specific to a date and cannot be changed once confirmed. It includes entrance to Machu Picchu.
- Briefing: For trek with hotel stay, enjoy an itinerary overview at your preferred time. For camping, a briefing is held at our office at 6:30 p.m. the night before the trek. Receive your duffel bag at the briefing, limited to 7kg/14 lbs.
- Porters: For 2D/1N Inca Trail with camping, a personal porter carries your duffel bag. No additional fee. If the hotel option is chosen, no porters are provided. You carry your items needed for the next day.
- Ground Transportation: All ground transportation from Lima arrival to Cusco departure is included. Transfers, trains, and buses are covered. A detailed itinerary with pickup times is provided.
- Equipment: Relevant for camping. Alpaca Expeditions provides top-notch equipment, including Eureka Timberline tents shared by two, a spacious dining tent, and a dedicated toilet tent.
- Food: Most meals are not included, except for a nice lunch during the Sacred Valley tour and all meals during the hike. Breakfast is served at your hotel each day.
- Water: Provided during the Sacred Valley tour and the hike.
- First Aid: Guides are trained annually by a medical doctor. They carry first-aid kits and full oxygen tanks for safety.
Not Included:
- Rentals: Walking sticks, sleeping bags, liners (for camping), and air mattresses are available for rent.
- Sleeping Bag: $15
- Air Mats: $10
- Walking Sticks (Pair): $10
- Huayna Picchu: A 45-minute hike after the Machu Picchu tour. Cost is $75, arrangements need to be made at least one month in advance.
- Day Packs: Not provided by Alpaca Expeditions. Ensure your pack is not too large, as Machu Picchu limits bags to 25L. Large backpacks need storage before the tour.
- Headlamps: Required for hiking. Encouraged for night camping, as there are no lights at camping sites. Flashlights are acceptable.
- Flights: Flying to Cusco can be tricky, with delays and cancellations. Arrive at least two days before the trek start date. LAN Peru is the most reliable airline.
- Gratuities: Tipping is appreciated and should be based on satisfaction.
- Travel Insurance: Not required but recommended. Especially for those adjusting to the altitude.
Note: Ensure your flight departs the day after your trek ends, as return times can be around 8 p.m.
