Itinerary

**DAY 1: Cusco – Abra Malaga – Santa Maria – Santa Teresa (Biking, Rafting)**

Pickup time is 6:00 a.m. You’ll leave Cusco and head to the Sacred Valley for breakfast. Then, continue to Abra Málaga (4,350 masl), the starting point of the biking tour. After a brief explanation and equipping, embark on a thrilling 3-hour bike descent (65km/40 miles) to Huamanmarca. Experience the transition from snow-capped mountains to the tropical forest, crossing small streams. Arrive at Santa María (1,200 masl) for lunch and spend the night at a hotel. Optional rafting on the Vilcanota River is available.

– Shuttle to Abra Malaga: 3.5 hours by bus from Cusco.
– Biking distance: 65km / 40 miles.
– Biking time: 3.5 to 4 hours approximately.
– Climate: Cold at the beginning, very hot at night.

**DAY 2: Santa Teresa – Hidroelectrica – Aguas Calientes (Trekking, Zipline)**

After breakfast, have the option to enjoy a zipline activity (optional, lasts 2 hours). Board transport to the hydroelectric plant and start trekking to Aguas Calientes via Intihuatana and Inka Rakay. Enjoy lunch with stunning views of Machu Picchu mountains. Finish the hike in Aguas Calientes, where you’ll spend the night.

– Hiking time: 6 hours approximately.
– Climate: Hot in the day, warm at night.

**DAY 3: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Ollantaytambo – Cusco**

Start early to witness the sunrise at Machu Picchu. You have the option to hike or take a bus to the citadel. Enjoy a guided tour and free time to explore. Optionally, hike Mt. Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountain (must be booked in advance). After exploring, descend to Aguas Calientes and take the train back to Ollantaytambo. Transfer to Cusco.

– Distance Traveled: 8 km / 4.9 miles.
– Hiking time: 2 hours approximately.
– Optional: Shuttle to Machu Picchu (25 minutes from Aguas Calientes).
– Machu Picchu guided tour: 2.5 hours.
