Itinerary
**Day 1: Cusco – Km82 – Llactapata**
*Embark on a Magical Journey with Machu Picchu Trek*
Our adventure with Machu Picchu Trek commences early, with a 6:30 am pickup from your hotel. As the journey unfolds, our bus traverses the scenic landscapes of the Sacred Valley, offering captivating views of the snow-capped Veronica peak (5900m / 19000ft). A brief stop near Ollantaytambo allows for breakfast purchases and restroom breaks.
Starting at Kilometer 82, the relaxed initiation of the Inca Trail offers a gentle walk along the Urubamba River. The route leads to a lesser-explored gem, the Inca fortress Vilca Raccay, and eventually to the extensive Inca site of Llactapata (Patallacta), our camping destination. Camping further up the trail ensures a tranquil experience, away from the bustling crowds.

**Day 2: Llactapata – Llulluchapampa**
*Traverse at Your Pace with Machu Picchu Trek*
In contrast to the challenging Dead Woman’s Pass, today unfolds at a leisurely pace, aiming for the Llulluchapampa campsite just before the pass. We venture off the beaten track to explore the lesser-visited Inca fort of Paucarcancha. Passing through diverse biozones, including the low sierra, cloud forest, and high puna, there are opportunities to spot various flora and fauna, including the elusive White Tailed Deer.

**Day 3: Llulluchapampa – Phuyupatamarca**

With breathtaking scenery of snow-capped peaks and cloud forests, today stands out as the most visually stunning. The campsite at Phuyupatamarca (3680m / 12073ft) offers a serene setting, with distant views of Machu Picchu mountain.

**Day 4: Phuyupatamarca – Puente Ruinas**

Capture the iconic photos and descend to Puente Ruinas for our last night camping together.

Embark on an early morning journey to Aguas Calientes town, followed by the first bus to Machu Picchu as it opens. A 2-hour guided tour acquaints you with the Inca wonders, and post-tour, explore the citadel at your pace. If permits allow, consider climbing Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu mountain. In the afternoon, board the train back to Ollantaytambo, followed by a bus journey back to Cusco. Machu Picchu awaits your discovery!

**Important Notice: ZERO PLASTIC BOTTLES**
As of December 1st, new government regulations on the Inca Trail prohibit the use of plastic water bottles. To ensure compliance, consider bringing aluminum 0.700ml bottles. Llama Path offers these bottles for sale at the office, or they can be purchased from various shops around the main square. It’s advised to bring aluminum water bottles or camel bags from home to avoid any inconvenience.
