Lares Trek To Machupicchu
About this tour
Introduction – Lares Trek to Machu Picchu
Embark on the unforgettable Lares Trek to Machu Picchu, a remarkable journey that follows a lesser-known route through the heart of the Andes. Unlike traditional trails crowded with hikers, the Lares Trek offers a serene and culturally immersive experience, guiding you through untouched landscapes and authentic Andean communities that have preserved their traditions for centuries.
This exceptional trek allows travelers to gain a genuine insight into traditional highland life, visiting remote villages where families still weave textiles by hand, cultivate ancestral crops, and maintain a lifestyle deeply connected to the mountains. Along the way, you will enjoy visits to welcoming family homes, encounter herds of alpacas and llamas, and witness the daily rhythms of rural Quechua culture.
The Lares region is also known for its soothing natural hot springs, cascading waterfalls, and stunning glacial valleys. Depending on the route, the trek may include a visit to the iconic Maras Salt Mines, a breathtaking complex of over 3,000 salt pools that have sustained local communities since Inca times.
Your journey concludes with an extraordinary reward: a guided exploration of the legendary Machu Picchu, one of the New Seven Wonders of the World. Blending rich cultural encounters, Andean natural beauty, and world-class archaeology, the Lares Trek provides a deeply meaningful, less-traveled path to one of the planet’s most celebrated destinations.
