Itinerary

**DAY 1: Cusco – Wiñay Wayna – Sun Gate – Machu Picchu**

Today is a packed day, so ensure a good night’s sleep. Your private pickup will be at 4:30 AM from your hotel in Cusco. In our private  van/bus, we’ll drive for approximately 2 hours to our breakfast spot at the Machupicchu trek Porter House. Enjoy a delightful breakfast with the best regional ingredients in the company of your guide and crew. After breakfast, we’ll head by car to the Ollantaytambo train station, where you’ll board the Vistadome train to the trailhead at KM 104.

From the KM 104 checkpoint, we’ll start our uphill hike of about 3 hours to the archaeological site of Wiñay Wayna. Your guide will explain the significance of this site during the Inca empire.

The walk to our lunch spot will be short from Wiñay Wayna. Your crew will welcome you with a freshly-prepared lunch and a well-deserved siesta.

After lunch, we’ll continue to the iconic Inti Punku or Sun Gate of Machu Picchu Citadel. This landmark offers your first postcard view of Machu Picchu Citadel. You won’t enter the archaeological site today. Instead, you’ll have plenty of time for photographs before heading to your hotel for the night.

Your hotel stay tonight will be at the famous Belmond Sanctuary Lodge. Dinner will also be at this hotel.

**DAY 2: Machu Picchu – Cusco**

Breakfast will be served at your hotel before your guided tour of Machu Picchu Citadel.

Before your guided tour of the archaeological site, your guide will take you to a lookout point to watch the sunrise over Machu Picchu, weather-permitting. Then, you’ll embark on a 2-hour guided tour of the site. If you’ve chosen to hike Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain, your guide will show you where the hike begins.

After the tour, head to Aguas Calientes by bus. Enjoy lunch at one of the best restaurants in town – Indio Feliz. You’ll have some free time before boarding the return Hiram Bingham train to Cusco. Once in Cusco, a private escort will take you to your hotel.
