This 22-day program is operated directly by MachuPicchu Trek, a 100% Peruvian-owned local operator specializing in adventure, cultural, and luxury travel. Our itineraries are built with precision, ethical standards, and decades of genuine field experience.

Important Information for All Travelers

Exemption from General Sales Tax (IGV)

Foreign and Peruvian travelers without residence in Peru may be exempt from the General Sales Tax (IGV) on hotel stays.

To qualify, guests must present both:

1. Original passport, and

2. Andean Migration Card (TAM) received upon entry to Peru.

The exemption applies to foreign travelers from Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Bolivia, and Chile, using either their passport or national ID.

Important:

• The entry stamp date must be less than 60 days old.

• Hotels have legal obligations and may deny the exemption if documents are missing.

• Any hotel-related expenses not included in the package—laundry, room service, minibar, etc.—must be paid directly by the traveler.

Changes to the Itinerary

While we strive to deliver each experience exactly as planned, the order or timing of excursions may be adjusted due to:

• Weather conditions

• Road closures

• Local festivities

• Operational safety decisions

Final schedules are provided by our operations team in each destination to guarantee the best and safest service possible.

Traveler Responsibilities

Travelers are responsible for:

• Personal expenses at the destination

• Luggage handling beyond included services

• Providing correct travel documentation

• Arriving on time for all transfers and outings

We highly recommend travel insurance that covers delays, cancellations, altitude adjustments, and medical assistance.

Cancellation & Refund Policy

Our policies are designed to maintain fair conditions for both travelers and our team, while ensuring we comply with Peruvian tourism regulations and supplier requirements.

Service Cancellations

• 30 days or less before the start date:
  100% penalty – No refund

• 31 to 90 days before travel:
  50% penalty of the total payment

• 91 days or more before travel:
  35% administrative fee applies

Once the package is confirmed and issued:

• Any date changes or modifications generate a 35% administrative penalty, plus fare or rate differences depending on availability.

Weather & Environmental Conditions

Some services may be:

• Delayed

• Interrupted

• Modified

• Or canceled

due to circumstances beyond our control (weather, strikes, safety conditions, etc.).
These situations are non-refundable, as providers incur full operational costs regardless of conditions.

Transportation Policies

Refunds, date changes, or name changes for:

• Airlines

• Trains

• Buses

• Cruise operators

are governed directly by each provider’s rules, which may be stricter for high season or group bookings.
MachuPicchu Trek will assist you in managing changes, but providers’ conditions are final.

Inca Trail Specific Policy

Due to government regulations and extremely limited permits:

• All Inca Trail reservations are 100% non-refundable and non-transferable from the moment permits are purchased.

• Dates cannot be modified, and permits cannot be reassigned to another traveler.
