Tour Itinerary
DAY 1: Cusco – Abra Malaga – Huamanmarca – Santa Maria (Biking, Rafting)
After a hotel pickup between 6:00 am and 6:30 am, you’ll travel to Ollantaytambo for breakfast before continuing to the Malaga High Pass (4,350 meters). The adventure begins with a thrilling 2.5-hour bike ride down to Santa Maria, passing the Huamanmarka Archaeological site. Arrive in Santa Maria around 1:30 pm for lunch and spend the night at Eco Terra Lodge.
Activities in Santa Maria: Rafting – Enjoy a 2.5-hour rafting adventure on the Urubamba River (class III & IV rapids). If you opt-out, explore the town on your own.
– Shuttle to Abra Malaga: 3½ hours by bus from Cusco.
– Biking distance: 65 km / 40 miles.
– Biking time: 3½ to 4 hours approximately.
– Climate: Cold during biking and very hot at night.
– Accommodation: Eco Terra Lodge.
– Meals: Lunch, Dinner.
– Maximum Altitude: 4350 masl / 14271 ft.
– Minimum Altitude: 1250 masl / 4691 ft.
DAY 2: Santa Maria – Quellomayo – Santa Teresa – Cocalmayo Hot Spring (Hiking, Hot Spring)
Start hiking along riverbanks, climb through coffee plantations, fruit trees, and observe diverse plants and birds. Descend to Qellomayo, trek for 3 hours, and enjoy the biodiversity of the high forest. Reach the hot springs in Santa Teresa and continue to Santa Teresa town. Explore Cocalmayo’s relaxing hot springs before heading to a comfortable hotel in Santa Teresa.
– Hiking distance: 22 km / 13.6 miles.
– Hiking time: 6½ to 7 hours approximately.
– Climate: Hot during the day and warm at night.
– Accommodation: Santa Teresa Hostel.
– Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

DAY 3: Santa Teresa – Hidroelectrica – Aguas Calientes (Hiking, Zipline)
Explore less-traveled roads, starting from Santa Teresa. Those who reserved in advance enjoy a zipline, while others continue to Hidroelectrica. Rejoin as a group and trek through Inca jungle, passing waterfalls, coca, and coffee farms to reach Aguas Calientes. Check into a hostel and gather for dinner and a briefing about the trek to Machu Picchu.

– Hiking time: 6 hours approximately.

DAY 4: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Ollantaytambo – Cusco
Start the day around 4:00 am to head to Machu Picchu, ascending through the high forest. Register at the control entrance around 6:00 am, and enjoy a private guided tour. Those booked for Huayna Picchu or Machu Picchu Mountain can embark on their climbs. Explore Machu Picchu until 5:00 pm and descend to Aguas Calientes. In the afternoon, take the train back to Ollantaytambo and transfer to Cusco.

– Hiking time: 2 hours approximately.
– Optional: Shuttle to Machu Picchu – 25 minutes from Aguas Calientes.

It accepts the passports or identity card to foreign passengers with no residence coming from Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, Bolivia, and Chile. The entry date to the country in both cases can´t pass 60 days. The order of excursions and service schedules may change. The schedules indicated in this itinerary are for reference only; the operations staff of the visited city will provide the definitive schedules. The passenger pays extra expenses at the travel destination.
CANCELLATION AND REFUND POLICY:
SERVICES:
Cancellations between 30 days previous to the travel date apply 100% penalty. No refund will be considered. Cancellations from 31 days to 90 days previous to the travel date apply 50% penalty of payment. Cancellations from 91 days previous to the travel date apply 35% penalty by administrative expenses. Once the package sale is closed, any change or modification is subjected to 35% penalty for administrative expenses + ticket rate difference according to availability for the new travel date. Some services can be interrupted or may be canceled due to weather conditions or other reasons out of provider control and responsibility. No refund would be considered for this type of interruption or cancellation.
TRANSPORTATION:
Refunds, change of traveler’s name for transportation such as airlines, trains, buses, cruises, etc., are subject of each provider’s policy.
