Tour Itinerary

DAY 01: Cusco – Mollepata – Challacancha – Soraypampa – Humantay Lake – Sky Camp

  • 06:00 AM: Departure from your hotel in Cusco. Enjoy a scenic 3-hour drive to Mollepata where you’ll stop for breakfast and prepare for the trek.
  • 09:00 AM: Continue on to Challacancha, the starting point of your trek. Here, you will meet your trekking team and begin the journey.
  • 11:00 AM: Start your hike to Soraypampa, where you’ll enjoy lunch with stunning mountain views.
  • 01:00 PM: In the afternoon, embark on a 2-hour hike to Humantay Lake, known for its crystal-clear turquoise waters framed by snow-capped mountains.
  • 03:30 PM: After your visit to the lake, return to Soraypampa and check-in to your Sky Camp for the night.
  • 06:30 PM: Enjoy a delicious dinner under the stars at Sky Camp before resting for the night.

DAY 02: Soraypampa – Salkantay Pass – Huayracmachay – Chaullay – Collpapampa (Mountain Sky View)

  • 05:30 AM: After breakfast, begin your ascent toward Salkantay Pass, the highest point of the trek at 4,600 meters (15,091 feet). The journey offers awe-inspiring views of Salkantay Mountain.
  • 09:30 AM: Reach Salkantay Pass, where you’ll take in panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and glaciers. This is the most challenging section of the trek, but the breathtaking vistas make it all worthwhile.
  • 11:00 AM: Start descending into the Cloud Forest as you make your way to Huayracmachay for a well-deserved lunch.
  • 01:00 PM: Continue downhill to Chaullay and then reach Collpapampa by late afternoon. Settle into the exclusive Mountain Sky View accommodation for the night.
  • 06:30 PM: Dinner will be served at Mountain Sky View, followed by a relaxing evening.

DAY 03: Collpapampa – La Playa – Lucmabamba – Jungle Domes

  • 07:00 AM: After breakfast, begin your descent through the lush, tropical jungle towards La Playa.
  • 09:30 AM: Visit an organic coffee farm where you will learn about traditional coffee production and enjoy some freshly brewed coffee.
  • 11:30 AM: Continue your journey to Lucmabamba, a small town nestled in the cloud forest.

DAY 04: Lucmabamba – Llactapata – Aobamba – Hidroelectrica – Aguas Calientes

  • 06:00 AM: After breakfast, embark on a morning hike to Llactapata, an ancient Inca archaeological site. This site offers a panoramic view of Machu Picchu, marking the first time you’ll see the iconic citadel from a distance.
  • 09:00 AM: Continue your trek down to Aobamba and then to Hidroelectrica, where you’ll have a break for lunch.
  • 01:00 PM: From Hidroelectrica, follow the train tracks to Aguas Calientes, the gateway town to Machu Picchu.
  • 04:00 PM: Arrive in Aguas Calientes and check-in to your comfortable hotel. Take some time to relax after the trek and prepare for your visit to Machu Picchu the following day.

DAY 05: Aguas Calientes – Machu Picchu – Ollantaytambo – Cusco

Cancellations from 31 days to 90 days previous to the travel date apply 50% penalty of payment. Cancellations from 91 days previous to the travel date apply 35% penalty by administrative expenses. Once the package sale is closed, any change or modification is subjected to 35% penalty for administrative expenses + ticket rate difference according to availability for the new travel date. Some services can be interrupted or may be canceled due to weather conditions or other reasons out of provider control and responsibility. No refund would be considered for this type of interruption or cancellation.
