Best Time to Hike the Short Inca Trail

April to June – Clear skies, lush landscapes after the rainy season

Traveler Tips – Recommended by MachupicchuTrek
Train tickets and permits sell out early, especially in high season—book at least 3–5 months in advance.
Wear comfortable hiking shoes, ideally waterproof and already broken in.

Use sunscreen, insect repellent, and a hat. The cloud forest sun can be surprisingly strong.

Stay hydrated and acclimatize in Cusco for at least 2 days before your trek.
